New Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program Summary

1. Skilled Workers Express Entry: Labour Market

Overview:

Applicants to the New Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program Express Entry Labour Market stream will, if nominated, be processed through the federal Express Entry electronic immigration management system.

Criterion:

  1. Language: CLB 7 in all four language skills
  2. Education: (Minimum) a secondary school graduation certificate.
  3. Work Experience: At least one year (1,560 hours/year) in NOC 0, A, and B.
  4. Age: 22-55
  5. Proof of funds
  6. Intention of living and working in New Brunswick.

A minimum of 67 points out of 100 in selection factors.

 

 

2. Skilled Worker Applicants With Employer Support

Overview:

Designed for qualified workers from around the world who will live in New Brunswick and contribute to the New Brunswick economy through full time ongoing employment.

Criterion:

  • Age: 22-55
  • Language: (Minimum) CLB4 for NOC C and D jobs.
  • Education: at least high school
  • Live and work in New Brunswick.
  • Work experience: at least one year.
  • Must be a permanent full-time employee of a New Brunswick Company.
    • NOC job:
    • Skill levels 0, A, B
    • Skill level C, Skill type 1, 3, 7, 8, 9
    • Skill level D, Skill type 1, 3, 7, 8, 9
    • The job is an area of skill shortage with a comparable rate of pay.
  • Submit all required forms and supporting documents.
  • A minimum of 50 points in the selection factors.

 

 

3. Skilled Worker with Family Support

Overview:

Designed for workers who have family support and full time ongoing employment in New Brunswick,

Criterion:

  • As a Skilled Worker Applicant with family support
    1. You are between 22 and 50 years of age.
    2. (IELTS) with a minimum score of 0
  • Qualification educations for the occupation. You will provide evidence that you have, at a minimum,
    1. Will live and work in New Brunswick.
    2. At least two years of continuous full-time work experience within the last five years, in your intended occupation in New Brunswick.
    3. Your job is represented in one of the following National Occupation Classification (NOC) skill levels:
  • Skill levels O, A, B
  • Skill level C, Category 1, 3, 7, 8, 9 Skill level D, Category 1, 3, 7, 8, 9
  • You will submit all required forms and supporting documents.
  • A minimum of $10,000 CAD and $2,000 CAD for each accompanying family member.
  • As a Supporter of the Skilled Worker Applicant:
    1. Canadian citizen or PR, residing full-time in New Brunswick
    2. You have been operating a business in New Brunswick for at least 12 consecutive months; Or, Working in one of the following National Occupation Classification (NOC) skill levels: Skill levels O, A, B; Skill level C, Category 1, 3, 7, 8, 9 for at least 12 consecutive months in New Brunswick.
  • You are financially self-supporting.
    1. You will participate in an interview with an official from the Population Growth Division.
    2. You will assist the Applicant with a Settlement Plan. Details are outlined in NBPNP-005.
    3. You will support only one applicant at a time.
    4. As the Supporter of the Skilled Worker Applicant, you must NOT have:
  • Sponsored a family member, in the past, through the Citizenship and Immigration Canada Family Sponsorship Program and failed to comply with the Sponsorship Agreement
  • Supported an Applicant, in the past, through the NBPNP where the family member is not living and working in New Brunswick
  • Defaulted on a Court Order for alimony or child support
  • Been charged or convicted of a violent crime and/or are in prison

 

 

4. Entrepreneurial Stream

Overview:

Designed for experienced business owners and senior managers who wish to invest and manage a business in New Brunswick (NB).

Criterion:

  1. Eligible connection to New Brunswick;
  2. Age: 22-55
  3. Language: CLB 5
  4. Education: Two years of full-time post-secondary education
  5. Net worth: CAD $600,000, and CAD $300,000 must be liquid and unencumbered funds; and
  6. At least three out of five years of experience in managing and owning a business (of at least 33.3%); or Have five years out of five of experience in a senior business management role or more;
  7. Live permanently in New Brunswick, while owning and managing a local business;
  8. Invest at least $250,000 CAD

 

 

5. Post-Graduate Entrepreneurial Stream

Purpose

Designed for students graduated in New Brunswick who have started or acquired a business for at least one year.

Eligibility:

  • Eligibility Requirements for Applicants:
    1. Age: 22-40 years of age.
    2. Language: CLB 7 or NCLC7 in all four language abilities.
    3. Education: A 2-year full time New Brunswick post-secondary diploma or degree.
    4. Work Experience: you may be awarded points based on your previous work experience. (Not include the one-year of your operating business.)
    5. Economic Benefit of the Business: you may be awarded points
    6. Adaptability: you may be awarded up to a maximum of 10 points for adaptability.
  • Eligibility Requirements For Business
    1. Must be started as a career objective. Businesses created solely for immigration purposes are ineligible
    2. A minimum of one year business operation;
    3. 100% ownership;
    4. An active and on-going participation in the day-to-day management
    5. The applicant must receive at least LICO salary from the business
    6. The business must be in sound financial health This means that it create at least one fulltime job for a Canadian Citizen or Permanent (not a family member)
    7. The position must meet prevailing wage levels and must be directly related to the business;
    8. The business must be established as a sole proprietorship, or corporation;
    9. A continued operation of an existing business, or a new business;
    10. Must be a for-profit entity
    11. A “permanent establishment”
    12. Comply with all legislation
    13. Not selling the business for a minimum of three years after receiving Permanent Residence in Canada

 

 

6. Employers Hiring Foreign Workers (Pilot Project)

Overview:

A three-year employer driven immigration program aimed at addressing skills gaps and labour market needs in the four Atlantic Provinces.

Criterion:

  • Employers’ criteria:
    1. To hire full-time, non-seasonal international candidates;
    2. The business are well-established and in good standing;
    3. The employer is committed to meet the settlement needs of its employees
    4. The Pilot is focusing on recruiting temporary workers:
      • Already in the province, OR Recent international student graduates from Atlantic Canadian post-secondary institutions.
